Summer Is Here. Are you?

This time of year is always bittersweet for me. Spring and the tendershoots are gone, they have grown and flushed out in their full beautiful beingness. And, if I am not present in myself, I can quickly start lamenting about Fall, before it ever gets here. Especially at the moment of Summer Solstice, when the Sun (Inti Tayta) starts to reverse its ascent from Summer's apex.
For me, this is the time of year I most need to practice presence and being in the moment, or I can get sideswiped by my thoughts into a chaos that is not actually happening. What is happening is fruit is ripening and readying to be picked; some flowers are in full bloom, others are starting to, and tree fruit is developing in different stages of juicy glory. All this life is in beautiful natural motion.
If left to my thinking mind's devices, I would be in dismay over Fall and Winter, as if they were already here. Ugh! How very dreary. How very NOT accurate! Yet, that is what my mind can try to pull off.
For Summer, I depend on my deep lived experience of shamanic and sacred practices to ensure I stay present with what is, and to stay out of stories of what is not and has not happened.
This very situation, in my own experience, is why I continue to teach and practice this great body of work that is Shamanic and Psycho-Dynamic processes & practices.
There are many ways of approaching these practices:
Byron Katie says, Love What Is!
Jack Kronfield teaches to not War Within &
A.H. Almaas teaches to be present, curious, and look within for Truth.
Rom Dass, Be Here Now is my favorite...
May you be curious and present in your life, and not war within yourself.
Munaycha,
Rosemary
