Spring Equinox

This is my favorite time of year, the first flowers of the year have bloomed and have been filling our house with the divine smell of Daphne. Birds are stirring, bees buzzing, flowers are opening, and new sprouts bursting through the fertile soil. Here is a poem I wrote a few years ago that is like a love letter to Spring:

Welcome Spring the Elixir of Life

Come with me to the woods where the rot and decay of winter lie at rest,

Where the cold, dark, damp soil roils and rumbles with the quickening of life force.

 Come out in nature where the emergence of spring is building in the bulbs, the rhizomes, and fueling the fields that will become May's flowers.

 Come and rest in the hollow trees in the spaces where the bears will play and forage.

 Come with me and welcome spring, the Elixir of Life.
