Maestro Luis Quispe Calcina

Maestro Luis Quispe Calcina is a respected Pampamesayoq (wisdom-keeper) of the Q’ero Nation of Peru. He served on the Q’ero Nation council in 2019 and is a phenomenal reader of Coca Leaves. Known as the last living descendants of the Inka bloodline in Peru, and the keepers of the Coca wisdom, the Q’ero still follow the ancient traditions of their ancestors by paying spiritual Ayni (reciprocity) to Mother Earth (Pachamama) and the Mountain Spirits/Guardians (Apukuna) through traditional Despachos prayer offerings and (Saminchay) beautiful blessing Fire Ceremonies. Luis dedicates his life to sharing ancestral wisdom and traditional ceremony with humility and cultural integrity to ensure the wisdom of his lineage continues to feed the spirit of the Earth and benefits All people far into future generations.

He performs spiritual ceremonies for health, finances, family, and work, including reading Coca Leaves, and spiritual cleansing of Hucha (discordant or non-beneficial energies). For more than 25 years, he has facilitated ceremonies, working in consort with the energies of Pachamama (Spirit of the Earth) and Apukuna (Spirits of the Mountains or Sacred Mountains), healing many people and connecting their energies with nature and Sami (refined energy) of this world to live in peace and with reciprocity (Ayni) for everyone.

Ceremonies: Luis's ceremonies are deeply rooted in the traditions of the Q’ero community. Trained by his Grandfather Maestro Manuel Quispe the legendary Altomesayoq. The Q’ero community follows the traditions of the Incas, the spiritual connections to Pachamama, healing practices such as Despachos, Saminchay Fire Ceremony and sacred experiences are still maintained to this day!

He conducts various types of ceremonies, including:

  • Coca Leaf Reading: This ancient practice involves interpreting the patterns and positions of coca leaves to provide guidance and insights into various aspects of life.

  • Spiritual Cleansing: Using natural elements and rituals, Luis cleanses individuals of dense, heavy energies, promoting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

  • Pachamama Offerings: Also known widely as Despacho Ceremonies. These ceremonies honor Pachamama, Mother Earth, by offering a gift made specific for each type of Despacho, food, drink, and other items to ensure harmony and balance with nature.  There are over 250 types of despachos that are used in Peru for wellbeing.

  • Healing Rituals: Luis uses the energies of the Apukuna (mountain spirits) and other natural forces to heal physical and spiritual ailments, helping individuals to reconnect with their inner selves and the world around them.

  • Initiation: Every ceremony is a type of initiation. When Maestro is training someone in the way of his spiritual traditions and ways of living in Ayni (right relationship/reciprocity) to Pachamama, there are initiations that are given to ready the student for the energy they will be working within.

Traditions and Practices: Luis continues to practice and promote his customs and traditions to the world. He guides his children with the teachings of his grandparents, who were powerful in their time. He carries their blood and energy to continue providing healing and spiritual training to whoever desires to step into the tradition.  His vision is to help as many people as possible to bring them back to connection with Pachamama, Apukuna and to Ayni (reciprocity).
