Time of Awakening in the Midst of Upheaval

As I sit with all that is unfolding in the United States and across the world, I find myself returning to the Q’ero prophecy of Pachakuti - a time when the world is turned right side up again, and life begins to move back toward balance and harmony.

Within this prophecy lives the story of the Eagle of the Northern Hemisphere and the Condor of the Southern Hemisphere. For a long time, they fly separately - one representing the mind and intellect, the other carrying the wisdom of the heart and the earth. The prophecy speaks of a time when they remember how to fly together in the same sky, each honoring the other, neither dominating, both essential.

It often feels to me that we are living inside this moment now. Old systems are unraveling, while new ways of being have not yet fully taken shape. There is grief here, and also possibility - an invitation to remember what truly matters.

A teaching shared by Maestro Quispe has guided me for many years: that the people of the Western world would one day receive these ancestral teachings, not to claim them, but to help preserve and carry them forward for future generations. This teaching shapes the work I do. It calls for humility, responsibility, and reciprocity - Ayni- and for creating spaces where remembering can happen slowly and with care.

This is why I offer the work I do. Not to provide answers, but to help cultivate connection - to the earth, to one another, and to the deeper wisdom that lives within each of us.

If you are feeling the weight or uncertainty of this time, know that you are not alone. Each of us has a place in this turning, sometimes through action, sometimes through rest, and sometimes simply through listening. May you trust the small, intentional ways you are already participating in the rebalancing of our world.

My hope is NOT that we “fix” the world, but that we remember how to belong to it again.

With gratitude for walking this moment together,

Rosemary Estelle Beam
